Over the 5 years that I created and ran DohGames, I learned so much more than I could have ever imagined. What started as merely something fun that a 14 year old kid could do in his spare time turned into a huge commitment of time and money.
I’d like to make this a sort of series with multiple articles that step through my entire process of making a website that in it’s hay-day, received over 8,000 unique visitors a day and averaged around 20 mb/s of bandwidth. By all means, there are other websites whose traffic completely dwarfs what Dohgames was; however, I believe my experience is something that anyone else could easily achieve, and even surpass.
